It is much easier still even today with women making more money and working more to throw that on the man. The idea that a man has a right to have a quality relationship with his children never truly enters into the equations and worksheets of the courts. Both attorneys rub their hands together with glee when a dad decides to take on the system and try for just a 50-50 split because it means he is in for a 30000+ payoff and that is just his attorney who might be truthful enough to tell him that the judge might not give him anything he is fighting for and sit back and still collect the man's money. I just got off the phone with the third person at family support registry. Seems the judge in his infinite wisdom set my ex's income at minimum wage so I got a raw deal to begin with but then the registry people have dropped the ball as far as I can tell. Listen up final orders state 548.00 goes for child support 50.00 goes toward arrears since I had a ton when temp orders ordered alimony then back dated it to first filing and 50.00 current alimony. So, we got 648.00 a month right? So, they take in 1700.00 through garnishing me and taking a check for the child support in August! Now, they tell me that I still owe Sept. for 598.00 and by the way pay another 598.00 by the 5th of October! Oh, but the good thing is you paid all your arrears.
